Birds of Prey, circling above
I'm far below, a common dove
Love is only found in the morning
They're circling closer, heeding no warning

When will they strike? So sick of the waiting
Time moves slow, constantly grating
Sedating with a flow like tar
It's hard to tell if they're near or far

They're so close I can feel them
Talons so sharp
I long just to steal them
Reel them in with feigned weakness
I'm concealing death with my meekness

Ever closer they come, minds full of blood
Thudding to the ground, falling prey to a dove
Love is lost in the dead of night
Life is lost to first morning's light

Fright couldn't save them from the tragedy
No understanding of the serious gravity
I waited down here
"De profundis clamavi"
Things aren't always what they seem. Before you commit, know what you're committing to. The last line of this poem, "De profundis clamavi", is the title of a poem by Charles Baudelaire. It means "From the depths I cried". Or atleast that's the most common English translation of the title. I think it fits well here.
